Today I went to three unbelievable sites in or near Kathmandu..I will go though each by separate post.  The first place was Bhaktapur...outside Kathmandu by a few kilometers.

The history of this city goes back to the 8th century.  At one time it was the capital of Nepal. Into the 18th century the inhabitants treated it like a separate country.. it is now inhabited by 100,000 peasants along with businessmen and public workers. Pottery and handicrafts are the major products.

It is called a "living museum".
